Rare footage of the elusive underground free-form experience known as Sissy Spacekraft. Filmed in the carpet-walled bunker of the Wheeler Bros. Studios in Lubbock, Texas sometime in 2001. Members of the band were, Matt “the Klystrom” Lara, Doug “The Jew” Haines-enstein, Dickie Steel, and the punk-post-punk-wave-country bassist, Jon Williams aka “Ear Bucket”. The Spacekraft was known for its improvisation and use of non-instrumental instruments. Often playing to sold out crowds, their use of scientifically-fabricated audio wave incubators and analog equipment from the age of moog combined with the only know example of “the anchor”, a 7′ diameter omni-directional resonating bass sphere fabricated out of a proprietary alloy, provided a sound no one has yet recreated; their shows could be heard for up to 10 miles in any direction. In this short documentary film, “Klystrom” utilizes a length of PVC pipe, contact miked and fed-back through his signature Ferrari chest mounted perpetual harmonic reed resonator. The band went their separate ways in 2002 to pursue other outlets. “Ear Bucket” was rumored to be operating a secret train depot somewhere in North Texas. “The Jew” having given in to his jet- setting lifestyle was last seen at the Central Texas Minivan Rally in 2009; he won best of show in the luxury minivan category. “Klystrom” was last documented working in a black-ops lab fabricating gravitational sonic technologies for a shadow government.
